Get help with my research?

Reference services are intended primarily for STCC students, faculty, and staff. We respond to inquiries from the general public as staff time permits.

  • Visit the reference desk
  • Call the reference desk at 755-4549
  • Email a reference librarian at stcclibrary@stcc.edu

Decide which database to use?

Consult the Databases by Title list, Databases By Subject list, or our Subject Research Guides. If you are still unsure, you can use any of the methods above to get personal help - tailored to your topic - from a librarian.

Cite my sources?

Citations help readers determine where you got your information. When you cite a source, another researcher can consult the same source for more or different information. Plagiarism is a form of theft, so make sure you aren't guilty of stealing another person's work by citing your information sources correctly.

  • This Citing Sources guide offers lots of tools to help with your citation work.
  • Style guides will also help. Ask for these at the Research Help Desk:

MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers   Call # Ref LB 2369 .G53 2016
