Systemic Racism and Injustice

Steps to Take Now

1. Donate
If you are able, there are many excellent organizations accepting donations. See our list further down on this page of organizations to support.

2. Contact your state and local representatives.
We have included a list of Mass representatives and their contact information. Call, email, or write to your representatives to let them know you are holding them accountable. Urge them to support criminal justice reform, increased funding to education and public health, and ending institutional racism.

3. Vote
The best way to hold your representatives accountable is to vote. If you are not registered to vote, you can register online. The deadline to register for the November 2020 election is Wednesday, October 14, 2020.

4. Support Black-Owned Businesses
See our list to the left of local black-owned businesses. It is important to support them, especially since so many small businesses have be negatively impacted by Covid-19.

5. Volunteer
Offer your time by volunteering for social justice organizations. Local organizations like Arise for Social Justice and the ACLU of Massachusetts are always looking for volunteers. Contact them today to find out how you can help.

6. Educate Yourself
Use this guide to read, watch, and listen to black stories and voices. We all have an obligation to educate ourselves and learn about the problems facing the black community.
