IT'S TIME TO RETURN LIBRARY DEVICES

An image of a laptop computer on a table with a mug of coffee and a winter scarf. The window by the table looks out onto a snowy street with bare, snow covered trees. Text next to the image reads: "STCC Library Tech2Go. Returns & Winter/Spring Requests. All library materials must be returned by December 20, 2021. Please visit our website for details about returns and renewals for Chromebooks and WiFi Hotspots."

The end of the semester is quickly approaching and that means it's time to plan for returning library materials. The following information will guide you through the return and renewal process for Chromebooks and WiFi hotspots.

  • All library materials must be returned by December 20, 2021. Materials can be returned to the library in person during our regular business hours. No appointment is necessary.
  • If you are not registered for Winter or Spring 2022 classes, you must return your materials to the library by December 20, 2021.
  • If you are registered for Winter or Spring 2022 classes and you would like to either keep a Chromebook you already have or request a new Chromebook, you may do by filling out this form: https://forms.gle/nmbRFdxMbsYcCQJN6
  • WiFi hotspots cannot be renewed. If you currently have one of the library's hotspots, it must be returned by December 20, 2021, even if you are registered for Winter/Spring classes. All students requiring a WiFi hotspot for Winter/Spring must fill out a request form: https://forms.gle/nmbRFdxMbsYcCQJN6

If you have any questions about the loan/return process, please contact the library's circulation department by emailing library_circ@stcc.edu.

Do you dread buying expensive textbooks every semester? If so, you'll be thrilled to know that STCC offers courses that have free or low cost textbooks. And now you can search for them in ARIES!

ARIES replaces WebAdvisor as STCC's main student planning system. This new system allows students to search and register for courses, check their grades, and view schedules, unofficial transcripts, and financial aid information.

A new feature of the system allows students to search for courses using a no cost/low cost filter. Using the filter will allow students to view available courses that either use a free textbook or have course materials that cost less than $50.

If you'd like to see a list of no/low cost courses before logging into ARIES, you do so on the library's website: https://libguides.stcc.edu/OER/courses-for-students

To register for one of these courses, please contact your advisor. Always make sure you check in with your advisor before registering for courses. You can also get help from the Academic Advising and Transfer Center, located on the second floor of building 19.
