STCC Welcomes Morris Dees

 

Morris Dees

Attorney Morris Dees will visit STCC on Thursday, April 16, 2009. The event, to be held at 10 a.m. in the Scibelli Hall gymnasium (Building 2), is presented by the STCC Diversity Council.

Morris Dees is the co-founder of the Southern Poverty Law Center and is now its chief trial counsel. Dees participates in suing hate groups and mapping new directions for the Center. The Southern Poverty Law Center was founded in 1971 as a small civil rights law firm. Today, SPLC is known for its tolerance education programs, its legal victories against white supremacists and its tracking of hate groups.
