A guide to area libraries.

Welcome!

This guide is designed to help you find out more about other libraries in and around Springfield, MA. The STCC library is part of HELM (Higher Education Libraries of Massachusetts) and CCGS (Cooperating Colleges of Greater Springfield). Your STCC ID with the library barcode can be used at the following libraries:

  • AIC
  • Elms College
  • Holyoke Community College

The following libraries will give you separate library cards:

  • Baypath College
  • Springfield College
  • Western New England University
  • Westfield State University

All Massachusetts residents are eligible for a library card from University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Learn more about who can borrow from the UMass Library.

Borrowing Privileges

STCC students may use other libraries in the area. Your STCC RamCard has a library barcode on the back can be used at AIC, Elms College and HCC. Other libraries may require that you get another library card. Please respect the borrowing policies of each of the libraries.

Springfield Libraries

In addition to the library here at STCC, there are a total of 10 public libraries, 8 academic libraries, 1 law library, and 1 special library in the Springfield area. Get a list of Springfield area libraries here.

Boston Public Library ecard

All Massachusetts residents can sign up for a Boston Public Library ecard online. To learn more about how to do this and why you would want a BPL ecard, visit their website.

BPL eCards are virtual library cards that allow users immediate entry to all of Boston Public Library's remotely-accessible electronic resources, including magazine databases, downloadable audio, video, e-books, and music.
