    This site helps teachers locate online resources such as ready-to-use Web lessons, quizzes, rubrics and classroom calendars.
  • American Academy of Pediatrics' Web Site  
    The organization of 60,000 pediatricians is "committed to the attainment of optimal physical, mental, and social health and well-being for all infants, children, adolescents, and young adults", and their web site contains much information on child health.
  • Child Care & Early Education Research  
    Offering a comprehensive collection of more than 14,000 resources from the many disciplines related to child care and early education.
  • Cooperative Children's Book Center  
    The CCBC is a gathering place for books, ideas, and expertise in the field of children's and young adult literature.
  • Education Atlas: Early Childhood Education  
    This is a guide to early childhood education sites on the Web.
  • Education World: Early Childhood Community  
    The early childhood community "has been created to celebrate and support the creativity and dedication of all those who participate in the education of young children".
  • National Center for Early Development and Learning (NCEDL)  
    NCEDL "is a national early childhood research project supported by the US Department of Education's Institute for Educational Sciences." It "focuses on enhancing the cognitive, social and emotional development of children from birth through age eight".
  • National Network for Child Care  
    An Internet source of over 1000 publications and resources related to child care. Publications are research-based and reviewed. The NNCC aims to share knowledge about children and child care with parents, practitioners, and the general public.
  • Zero to Three Home Page  
    ZERO TO THREE is a national nonprofit organization that informs, trains and supports professionals, policymakers and parents in their efforts to improve the lives of infants and toddlers.

Internet Subject Directories

Subject directories offer a collection of links to Internet resources submitted by site creators or evaluators and organized into subject categories. Some directories are created in order to help users find high quality sites of interest and are selective in the sites they include.

  • Librarians' Internet Index  
    Librarians' Internet Index (LII) is a publicly-funded website which indexes websites that are selected for quality, described, and organized by a team of librarians.
  • Intute  
    Intute is a directory of web resources for education and research, all of which have been evaluated and selected by subject specialists.
  • Infomine  
    INFOMINE is a virtual library of Internet resources relevant to faculty, students, and research staff at the university level. It covers resources related to natural sciences, social sciences, humanities, business and the arts.
