Shea Library at American International College

James J. Shea Memorial Library is open to AIC students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the general public. They offer 16 computers for drop-in use by the AIC community, group study rooms, copiers, reference and research help, and much more.

Monday - Thursday 7:45 a.m. - 11:00 p.m.
Friday 7:45 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Saturday 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Sunday 12:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Special Collections

Shea Library is home to a unique ORAL HISTORY collection of 1,200 audio tapes providing a history of life in Southern New England in the late 19th century and early 20th century. If you are interested in working with this collection you must contact the library.

Eligible Borrowers

Shea Library at AIC extends borrowing privileges to:

  • Students, faculty and staff of CCGS (Cooperating Colleges of Greater Springfield), who possess proper identification from their home institutions. CCGS Colleges are: Bay Path College, Elms College, Holyoke Community College, Springfield College, Springfield Technical Community College, Western New England College, and Westfield State College.
  • C/W Mars (Central/Western Massachusetts Automated Resource Sharing) patrons who are at least 18 years of age and possess valid library cards from their home libraries.
