Moves clients from housing crisis situations to more secure, permanent housing. Programs include job training and placement, transitional housing for homeless families, young mothers, and survivors of domestic violence, and homelessness prevention services. Provides rental assistance & home ownership services.
Men's Shelters

Friends of the Homeless is open 24 hours a day for individuals experiencing homelessness. LGBTQIA+ friendly. Spanish is spoken. Shower and laundry facilities. Resource Center available during the day. Self or detox center referrals. Provides advocacy, counseling, referrals. Therapy and psychiatry on site as well as case management. Three community meals a day, 365 days per year to anyone needing food. Health and dental services also available.
- Springfield Rescue Mission

Men 18 and over. Intake begins at 3 PM. Showers are mandatory. Dinner is served at 5 PM. Lights out at 10 PM. No leaving the facility after checking in. Breakfast is served at 7 AM and all guests must vacate the facility by 8 AM. Guests are provided with nutritious meals, safe shelter and hygiene items as well as clothing, counseling and referrals to community resources as needed.

- YWCA Domestic Violence Shelter

58 Bed emergency shelter for victims of domestic violence and their children, 24 hour hotline for victims of domestic violence. Length of stay varies. Any referral. Provides outreach counseling, support groups, legal & medical advocacy, court advocacy, supervised visitation, safety planning, and relocation support. The YWCA also offers services for children. Must call for more information.
Teen and Teen Parents Shelters

Provides 24-hour short-term shelter (up to 21 days) for young people under the age of 21 who have left home or are homeless. Offers connections to community, health, education, mental health services and other basic needs, with follow up and support. Confidential, and 24/7 access. Call and ask for the Safety Zone. Leave your name and number and a social worker will call you within minutes.
- Open Pantry Teen Parent Program

Space for 8 teen mothers ages 13–21 with children. Offers immediate and long term assistance. Teen moms are able to stay up until 21 years old. Provide in-house therapists and nurses 1x / week DTA referrals only. Provide help with school, daycare, therapy, parenting & life skills, workshops.

A voluntary program for young women ages 13-20 who are pregnant or parenting. Residents can stay for up to two years to develop the necessary skills to function effectively. Requires a referral from either DCF or DTA. For more information on how to get a referral, call 413-732- 3121 ext. 184.

Must meet certain eligibility requirements (including income and children under age 21) or be pregnant. To apply for shelter services, call 866-584-0653 or apply for emergency assistance in person. Office hours are 8 AM - 5 PM.
Veteran Housing

A two year transitional housing program sober house available for 12 homeless veterans. Includes single rooms, shared common areas, substance abuse counseling, career counseling, DVA services, employment & school referrals and AA/NA in-house meetings.
